PRAWIRA PIJLOO

Prawira Pijloo is a young dutch classical guitarist. She was born in Amsterdam on May 20th 1999. When she was seven her older brother inspired her to start playing when he told her she was talented the first time she touched the guitar. From then on music played a big role in her life.

 

Prawira started as a student at the Muziekschool van Amsterdam in 2007, there she studied for three years with Barbara de Bruin.

In 2010 she got accepted at the Sweelinck Academy, the national academy for young talent of the Concervatory of Amsterdam.

Between 2010 and 2018 she studied with Lex Eisenhardt, from 2017 she also studied with Johannes Moller and Gabriel Bianco.

She has taken masterclasses  with Margarita Escarpa, Johannes Moller, Mathew McAllister and Lorenzo Micheli.

 

Prawira has performed on various podia and in house concerts troughout the Netherlands.

At the age of eleven she won the first price at the Young Musician of the year competition of the Royal Concertgebouw Open, one year later she was given het first solo performance in the great hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

In 2013 she won the second prise of the EGTA guitar concours and the following year the first prise of the same competition. Trough these prices she was given various concerts. In June 2018 Prawira performed the first movement of Giulliani’s Concerto in A major in the great hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with the Residentieorkest and conductor Jurjen Hempel.

Besides being a solo artist she also plays together in a Duo with her brother Krisna Pijloo who also is a classical guitarist.

With this duo she performed in the small hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in the pre-program of the Spanish guitarist Rafael Aguirre a production of Meesters op de gitaar.

In her free time Prawira likes to sing with her friends, visit museums, watch good movies and fashion. All this inspires her to broaden her musical vision. 

 

She also gives private guitar lessons.

Prawira Pijloo is een jonge Nederlandse klassieke gitarist. Zij werd op 20 mei 1999 in Amsterdam geboren. Toen ze zeven was inspireerde haar oudere broer haar om te gaan spelen toen hij haar vertelde dat ze getalenteerd was de eerste keer dat ze de gitaar aanraakte. Vanaf toen speelde muziek een grote rol in haar leven.

Prawira begon in 2007 als student aan de Muziekschool van Amsterdam, daar studeerde ze drie jaar bij Barbara de Bruin.

In 2010 werd ze aangenomen op de Sweelinck Academie, de nationale academie voor jong talent van het Concervatorium van Amsterdam.

Tussen 2010 en 2018 studeerde ze bij Lex Eisenhardt, vanaf 2017 studeerde ze ook bij Johannes Moller en Gabriel Bianco.

Ze volgde masterclasses bij Margarita Escarpa, Johannes Moller, Mathew McAllister en Lorenzo Micheli.

 

Prawira trad op op verschillende podia en in huisconcerten door heel Nederland. Op elfjarige leeftijd won ze de eerste prijs bij de Young Musician of the Year-wedstrijd van het Koninklijk Concertgebouw Open, een jaar later kreeg ze haar eerste solovoorstelling in de grote zaal van het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In 2013 won ze de tweede prijs van het EGTA-gitaarconcours en het jaar daarop de eerste prijs van dezelfde competitie. Via deze prijzen kreeg ze verschillende concerten. In juni 2018 voerde Prawira het eerste deel uit van Giulliani's Concerto in A majeur in de grote zaal van het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam met het Residentieorkest en dirigent Jurjen Hempel.

Naast haar solospel speelt ze ook samen in een duo met haar broer Krisna Pijloo, die ook een klassieke gitarist is.

Met dit duo trad ze op in de kleine zaal van het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam in het voorprogramma van de Spaanse gitarist Rafael Aguirre, een productie van Meesters op de gitaar.

In haar vrije tijd zingt Prawira graag met haar vrienden, bezoekt ze musea, kijkt ze naar goede films en mode. Dit alles inspireert haar om haar muzikale visie te verbreden.
